  3. Synthesizes literary and informational texts to support research, analysis, and reflection
  4. Writes narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events
  5. Produces clear and coherent writing in which the length, organization, and style are appropriate to purpose and audience

Speaking and Listening

  2. Follows agreed upon rules for discussion
  3. Communicates effectively in a variety of settings

Social Studies

  1. Independently takes and organizes notes and uses as a study aid
  2. Uses proper citations and creates a bibliography
  3. Identifies fact, opinion, and bias
  4. Conducts research projects drawing on multiple sources
  5. Demonstrates understanding of content and key concepts in current units
  6. Understands the responsibilities of citizenship, actively participates in the promotion of the school and the larger community
