Admissions Home

Greetings! Thank you for your interest in Presidio Hill School. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to our wonderful school. Lunar New YearPart of our mission is to help guide our students into becoming active and responsible participants in the world. We do this by encouraging them to question, evaluate and think creatively and independently. As a community, we seek to acknowledge our commonalities and differences, and most importantly, to understand and appreciate them.

Our primary entry points are transitional kindergarten, kindergarten and sixth grade. Since there can be openings in other grades, we encourage families with children entering other grades to apply. As you review the admissions section and learn more about Presidio Hill School, please feel free to contact Laura Novia in the admissions office at any time if you have additional questions.

In this section you will find information on admissions events, the admissions process and financial assistance. We have regularly scheduled tours in the fall and winter, as well as open houses in October, November and January. Our frequently asked questions page can help answer some of your questions, especially if you're considering our transitional kindergarten program.

Thank you for visiting our website. Please email Laura Novia or call extension 104 if you would like more information.

Admissions Tours and Events

To ensure that all families understand the school’s philosophy and have a chance to experience our community, we believe it is important to visit the school. We offer two ways to see the school: parent/guardian tours and open houses. We encourage families to attend both.  Applications can be downloaded from our website, are available during open houses and tours, or can be mailed upon request.

How to Apply for Admission

Application Checklist

  • Schedule a parent/guardian tour or attend an open house. Applications can be downloaded from our website, picked up during your tour or open house, or mailed upon request.
  • Complete the application and return it, along with the $75 application fee, to the admissions office. Please contact Laura Novia for an application fee waiver if your financial circumstances so warrant.
  • Schedule a parent/guardian interview. Once your application is received, Laura Novia will contact you with dates and times.
  • Schedule a play date or visit day for your child. If you are applying to transitional kindergarten through fifth grade, we will contact you to schedule your child’s play date or visit after we receive your application. If you are applying to sixth through eighth grade, we encourage your child to visit before applications are due (February 14, 2011). Your child can visit any time, even if you have not submitted a middle school application.
  • Give the confidential ‘Student Evaluation Form’ to your child’s current teacher so that the teacher can complete and return the form to the admissions office.
  • Give the ‘Record Release Form’ (applicants for second through eighth grade) to your child’s current school so the school can send these records directly to our admissions office.
  • Complete and return the middle school student application (if applying for sixth through eighth grade) by February 14, 2011.
Student Play Dates and Visits

Financial Assistance

At Presidio Hill School, we understand that many families find it challenging to pay independent school tuition. In an effort to make our school as accessible as possible, we continue to investigate alternative tuition structures and encourage our families to explore other options as well. We believe that the value of a PHS education far exceeds the considerable financial commitment it requires and understand that some families will need further assistance. We are committed to helping our families find the resources to make their child's attendance a reality. As part of our commitment to diversity, 22% of our student body receives assistance.
