Admissions Home
Greetings! Thank you for your interest in Presidio Hill School. I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to our wonderful school.
Part of our mission is to help guide our students into active and responsible participants in the world. We do this by encouraging them to question, evaluate, and think creatively and independently. As a community, we seek to acknowledge our commonalities and differences, and most importantly, to understand and appreciate them.
Our primary entry points are kindergarten and sixth grade. We enroll approximately 16 new students for each of these grades. Since there can be openings in other grades, we encourage families with children in other grades to apply. As you review the admissions section and learn more about Presidio Hill School, please feel free to contact me at any time if you have additional questions.
In this section you will find information on admissions events, the admissions process, and financial assistance. Applications are not on the web, as we believe the best way to decide whether to apply is to visit us. We have regularly scheduled tours in the fall and winter, as well as November and January open houses.
Thank you for visiting our web site. Please email or call me if you would like a copy of our school brochure.
Sincerely,
Director of Admissions and Financial Assistance
Admissions Tours and Events
To ensure that all families understand the school’s philosophy and have a chance to experience our community, we encourage everyone to visit the school. We offer two ways to see the school: parent/guardian tours and open houses. Applications are available during open houses and tours.

How to Apply for Admission
Admissions Process / Checklist
- Schedule a parent/guardian tour or attend an open house. You receive an application during your tour or open house.
- Schedule a play date or visit day for your child. If you are applying to kindergarten through fifth grade, we will contact you to schedule your child’s play date or visit after we receive your application. If you are applying to sixth through eighth grade, we encourage your child to visit before applications are due (February 4, 2008). Your child can visit any time, even if you have not submitted a middle school application.
- Complete the application and return it, along with the $75 application fee, to the admissions office. Please check the fee waive box at the top if your financial circumstances so warrant.
- Give the confidential ‘Student Evaluation Form’ to your child’s current teacher so that the teacher can complete and return the form to the admissions office.
- Complete and return the middle school student application (if applying for sixth through eighth grade).
- Give the ‘Record Release Form’ (applicants for second through eighth grade) to your child’s current school so that the school can send these records directly to our admissions office.
Student visits are a chance for your child to experience Presidio Hill firsthand. We make it a priority to put your child at ease in a new environment. Click on the link below to read more.

Financial Assistance
At Presidio Hill School, we understand that many families find it challenging to pay independent school tuition. In an effort to make our school as accessible as possible, we continue to investigate alternative tuition structures and encourage our families to explore other options as well. We believe that the value of a PHS education far exceeds the considerable financial commitment it requires and understand that some families will need further assistance. We are committed to helping our families find the resources to make their child's attendance a reality. As part of our commitment to diversity, 20% of our student body receives assistance.

PHS Curriculum Grid
Our teachers are extremely conscious about how they design and implement classroom curricula. Download the curriculum grid for a thumbnail sketch of the academic subjects at each grade level and in shared studies. Curricular "snapshots" by grade are also available for download to give a deeper sense of what students experience in the classroom.
