Author Chris Crutcher @ Books, Inc. September 10th

Meet award winning author Chris Crutcher when he visits Books Inc. Laurel Village on Saturday, September 10th @ 6 p.m.

Among the most widely acclaimed and challenged authors in young adult fiction, Crutcher has written such unforgettable stories as Whale Talk, Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes and the hilarious and heartbreaking memoir, King of the Mild Frontier. Just in time for Banned Books Week, Mr. Crutcher will discuss his latest book, Sledding Hill, which is a unique look at life, death, friendship and censorship.

Fact: September 24-October 1st is Banned Books Week, 2005.

Fact: Chris Crutcher books were challenged in six states during the first five months of George Bush's second term of office alone.

Fact: The National Coalition Against Censorship, the PEN Center, the American Library Association, and the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression have all come out in support of Chris Crutcher.
