Athletics

Presidio Hill School athletics emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship.  Coaches, parents, and players are expected to model good sportsmanship to all Presidio Hill School players and parents, as well as to opposing players, parents and coaches.  The goal is to have fun and develop skills in a supportive atmosphere.

While competition is a healthy characteristic we encourage in our teams, we do not put winning ahead of developing as a team and working together.  At Presidio Hill School, no student is left standing on the sidelines or sitting on the bench for the entire game.  All players should be able to hold their heads high and shake their opponents' hands following every game.

Presidio Hill School participates in the San Francisco Athletic League, which includes teams from several other independent schools in the city.  As part of this league, we offer middle school students coed volleyball and cross-country in the fall; girls and boys basketball in the winter and coed futsol (indoor soccer) in the spring. The purpose of this league is to provide athletic opportunities to students, and safely and responsibly administer league contests with respect for the games, teams, officials, and for students in member schools. Students in the Lower School participate in parent-organized team activities.  The sports offered vary depending on student interest and have included soccer, softball and other team sports.
