Presidio Hill School takes pride in its highly diverse and
inclusive parent community. Families from all across the city and beyond are
attracted to Presidio Hill School because of its commitment to progressive education and its
core values of responsibility, community, compassion and integrity.
Presidio Hill School promotes a strong partnership between families and
school. Each parent is a member of the Parent Guardian Association (PGA), whose
mission is to create a welcoming, supportive environment in which all families
feel connected to the school. The PGA also serves as a liaison between parents
and the school, fosters school-wide communication, and coordinates parent involvement
in school activities. Throughout the year the PGA organizes numerous events that focus on community building. From Fall Gathering, an all-school picnic
that kicks off the year, to May Fest, an outdoor celebration of the arts, these
events give parents an opportunity to become more engaged with the school and
build lasting friendships within the community.
In many ways parents are the backbone of the Presidio Hill School experience,
and it is their dedication and involvement that drive many of the activities
that are so beloved at Presidio Hill School. For parents who want to become more involved, the
PGA can direct them toward the volunteer opportunities that best suit their
interests and areas of expertise. (See Volunteering for more
information.)
