YESTERDAY AND TODAY: THE AIMS OF OUR SCHOOL

Thank you all for a fabulous Corporation Meeting, which begins to wrap up our 89th year.  The entire staff appreciates the great care that parents take in looking at their children's education not just on nights like last night but throughout the year.

Last night at the Corporation Meeting, we learned a great deal about the "old school," and we looked ahead at what the coming year and years may have in store for us.  Towards the end of the business meeting, I read a selection from a pamphlet that the school published called "Presidio Hill Open Air School" that came from the 1930 - 31 school year.  Clearly, the staff and Board were marketing the school to prospective parents as well as to the internal community.  As you read through the materials, please ask yourself what parts of the school from the early 1930s are still relevant and in evidence today?  To whom was the school attempting to appeal?  Also, pay especial attention to the sections entitled "AIMS" and "CURRICULUM."

Please enjoy the reading from our impressive history.  Click here to download a pdf version of this historical publication.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Namaste,
Brian
