Spectacular Summer Camps at Presidio Hill School

A small but mighty lineup of camps where PHS students and friends explore their unique interests, build skills for use within and outside the classroom, and build community together on our historic campus and in the Presidio.

Each summer, Presidio Hill offers a limited number of camps led by PHS educators and partners. We call this season "PHS Spectacular Summer" because our camps feel like all of the best parts of the school year with more room to play, explore, and try something new with friends new and old.

Get ready to rock. This weeklong jam session is all about making music, forming bands, and turning up the volume on creativity. Whether students play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, or want to try vocals, campers will practice together, experiment with new parts, and prepare for a final performance. The focus is on collaboration, skill-building, and having fun on stage.

Time: 9:00am–3:00pm
Group size: 12–16 campers

Fantasy Writing (Rising 5th–8th)

This camp focuses on long-form fantasy writing and the imaginative process of building original stories. Campers create unique characters, magical worlds, and compelling narratives through a blend of creative writing, art, group discussion, and collaborative feedback. Daily activities explore worldbuilding, character development, plot structure, magic systems, and themes.

By the end of the week, students will produce at least one complete short story or a full chapter of a longer work, along with a character profile, a hand-drawn world map, and a loose plot outline they can continue developing after camp.

Each day includes guided instruction, creative time, and lots of encouragement as campers build confidence and let their ideas lead the way.
