First Grade National Parks PSA
Last week Presidio Hill School's first-grade class learned more about diversity through the lens of National Parks. In 2015, 78% of the people who visited National Parks were white. Since then, the National Parks Service has tried to increase diversity in their parks through outreach such as videos and interviews. The first-grade students- who have the opportunity to visit our neighboring national park, the Presidio, at least once weekly- focused their learning on topics of diversity and the ways we can make National Parks more accessible and welcoming to all people. The end result of this unit was a National Parks PSA and a presentation at our school's weekly assembly.
