PHS Students Return to Campus!
A note from Presidio Hill Head of School, Lisa Jeli:
After receiving notice last week from the San Francisco Department of Public Health that PHS was approved to reopen, Presidio Hill School staff have been training on protocols, revisiting and setting up classroom spaces, determining schedules, and–most importantly–supporting our students as they get ready to transition to our new on campus/distance learning models!
Today, PHS transitional kindergarten through second grade students had their first day back on campus, and I am not sure there are adequate words to express the joy, appreciation, and optimism I experienced this week while welcoming many of our students and their committed and creative teachers back to campus. These feelings were further underscored and reinforced as I stood outside of our two Kindergarten classrooms this morning, watching our youngest at-home learners and their in-class peers enjoy time “together” using technology as the bridge.
The partnership and support of the Presidio Hill School families, the creativity and flexibility of our staff, and the joy and understanding of students have been truly amazing to witness. Thank you to all who have been a part of our community during this challenging and unpredictable time–I am grateful for each one of you, and looking forward to welcoming back our third through fifth and middle school students soon.
