Presidio Hill Class of 2020 Final Farewell
We had a lovely "Final Farewell" with our alumni from the PHS Class of 2020! Families and students from the Class of 2020 had a chance to gather together at PHS for the first time since COVID-19 lockdown began in March 2020 (we originally said "see you back in two weeks"!).
As Lisa mentioned in her welcome statement, one of the students from the Class of 2020 wrote a tribute about their time at PHS that included the following sentence: “...I am finally starting to realize that there is not one moment spent with the people who care about you -- and the people you care about -- that is even the slightest bit worthless.” That sentiment rings even truer now for many of us than it did 14 months ago.
We can only begin to imagine the variety of both joys and challenges each student, parent/guardian, and community member experienced since San Francisco locked down in March 2020. We hope that the resilience and optimism that PHS works to foster supported our students as they managed some truly challenging times–we are proud to have each alumni, student, family, and staff member representing PHS.
For many PHS students, no matter where you may go to high school, college, graduate school, PHS is likely to be the place you will spend the majority of your years at school. Whether you spent one or ten years in the PHS community, our alumni are always a part of PHS, and we look forward to seeing how you take PHS with you out into the wider world.
We hope this is the first of many times that we can welcome you back to PHS.
