Presidio Hill Transitions to Distance Learning!
On Monday, PHS received the announcement that San Francisco, as well as five other Bay Area counties, would be under a shelter-in-place mandate that evening. Our plan to distribute student materials and have an extra planning day for teachers was necessarily moved forward and the entire PHS team rallied to get students and families their classroom supplies, technology needs, and extra-curricular library books and art supplies. Families were flexible and generous with each other; those who were able to come pick up supplies that afternoon quickly asked others in their classes if anyone needed help with pickup. Parents/guardians and students stopped by the school all afternoon on Monday to get their materials and offer kind words and support. We are so inspired to be in a community of people who value each other, who have rolled with our new distance learning teaching model, and who continue to support and build up one another.
